Job Description

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in our Logistics department. We are looking for talented individual with relevant skills and experience for a Team Leader Distribution, which is based in Bloemfontein. The successful candidate will report directly to the Distribution Manager.

The key purpose

To manage the Distribution Department and the Owner Driver Scheme in order to satisfy customer service through CLI (Customer Loyalty Index) and ODIF (On Day In Full) whilst optimizing the utilization of company / Owner Driver assets and the departments performance in order to manage costs.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Maintain daily compliance to Distribution and Warehouse BWPs.
  • Control driver shortages at the depot and in trade.
  • Maintain budget control through correct dispatching and mode mix management.
  • Ensure the implementation of ODIF principles.

Stakeholder Management

  • Manage the Owner Driver (OD) and OD Business Advisor (BA) engagements.
  • Ensure effective Contract management, including Owner drivers.
  • Attend to Customer and Sales team queries, timeously and efficiently.
  • Ensure that internal query resolution (warehouse, settlement) is expedited.

Safety and Human Resources

  • Maintain our RTMS accreditation (Road Transport Management System).
  • Maintain safe, healthy and risk-free working environment.
  • Effectively manage individual performance and development in line with PERFORM way.
  • Manage the processes of mentoring and coaching of Owner Drivers.

Perform administrative duties

  • Ensure that daily controls are adhered to.
  • Ensure the implementation of the Driver satisfaction survey.
  • Ensure that all drivers comply with the policies set out by CCBSA.
  • Ensure that all drivers’ files are up to date and kept neat.
Skills, Experience & Education
  • A minimum of a BCom Degree or Diploma in Logistics / Transport Management
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience within the FMCG transport field
  • At least two years’ experience in Logistics, Distribution, Planning, Warehouse
  • A good understanding of CCBA Logistics systems and processes.
  • Advanced PC skills (MS Office, SAP)
  • Experience in managing a dynamic team
  • Good understanding of Road Transport and related legislation and NOSA
  • Valid Code 08 Drivers License and own transport.
